Mini-Vacation: Curses and Goodies!

Well, Friday night was fun. I got into Trial of the Crusader (25 man) with A.P. and Dae's guild. They made most of it look easy.

And then...

Faction Champions happened.

Every...single...group...I have EVER....been invited to stops at Faction Champions for one reason or another. I'm starting to believe there's a curse involved. (Kel'Thuzad, if you've got anything to do with this...just remember I know where you live!)

I've been through a handful of 10 man versions. All have stopped at Faction Champions. Either we hit it like a brick wall of wiping tragedy, or the group has predetermined that this is as far as we're going and they're not even going to attempt it.

Grrr...And Friday night was no exception. Stupid faction champions. It was the priest. The undead priest. EVIL! There were two undead priests, actually. One was of the "healing" sort. The other of the "psychic scream" sort.

So, the shadow priest would send us all running and while we were fleeing for our lives, the holy priest would top everyone off. *sigh* And the group I was with was really good. I think if we would have taken a bit more time to lay out a more solid strategy, it would have been ok, but people got really frustrated and just called it there.

So, I get ported back to Dalaran. I do my cooking daily then wander aimlessly around the city for a few minutes. And then I remember...

Oh Hey! My "mysterious egg" cracked today!

Mind you, I kept it in the bank because I'm working on Loremaster and keeping the bag slots open is really REALLY helpful. So I make my way to the bank.

I open the bag and I see a little proto-drake head icon in my bag. I was like "WOO COOL!!! I got the proto-drake whelp!!!" /cheer!

Wrong.

I got something so much cooler out of that egg...

Well HELL YEAH! I was pretty excited. Totally unexpected too. I was reasonably sure I was going to get another batch of stinky yolks or maybe some other random thing...Oh yes...very yes...

I was so excited.

I needed to take it for a test drive. You know what happened after that?










hehe The best part is that I had gotten the letter from Brann Bronzebeard before I had even completed the achievement and gotten the "achievement flash". If I had been thinking, I would have taken a quick screenshot with the explorer's tabard and title on the new proto-drake. But I wasn't thinking much about that.

I've been thinking more about this...






Almost there for Old World. I have 137 quest left to do. I'm getting a little anxious because from what I can tell, I only have the Plaguelands to finish (Eastern and Western), and I can't imagine there are 137 quests between the two of them. I could be wrong though. I didn't think there was going to be nearly 40 quests left for me at the end if Kalimdor, but there was. I'm also only 408 quests away from "The Seeker" title. I have 2592/3000 built up toward that. I think I'll probably have that knocked out long before I ever get back out to Northrend to finish my Loremaster tasks out there, but we shall see.

It was a busy little "long weekend" for me.

Well, I'm off to the "real world" now. If I think of any other fun updates, I'll stop by and post a quick note about them.
