Here, I define "beastly" as being able to heal and bubble her way through really, really rough pulls. Discipline priests are godly.
You all know the room in Stonecore, after you're done with Slabhide and heading toward Ozruk? The room where an extra group of adds inevitably gets pulled every time I run this instance? That room has done nothing but stroke my priestly epeen. Two groups of mobs plus one of those big, one-eyed freak mobs? No problem. I got this.

So Discipline healing and I are pretty good friends by now. I think I've got a decent understanding and generally, the only time the tank dies is when it's this Worgen Death Knight I run with usually...and when I'm in the mood for what I've come to call "Spontaneous Tank Sacrifice".
Shadow, however, is an entirely different monster. I...don't...get it... I suppose that means I need to do a little research on proper stats and rotation (because for right now I just use my healing gear, which I'm sure isn't helping matters). I've talked to a few friends to get friendly advice on how to drive the Shadow car down the path to awesomeness...but I'm just not getting there.

It's only funny cuz it's true. |
And we all know that since she CAN heal...that's probably what I'll need to do with her. I'll probably go Holy/Discipline on her eventually. I mean, holy is fun right? Lots of sparkly, glowy fun to be had there. Maybe I'll dust that off tonight and see how it feels.
I'm HOPING to finish up the grind to 85 tonight so that I can start getting her geared up.
I'm also starting to realize I have a serious problem here. I'm...an altoholic! EEEEEGADS! Quickly! We need an intervention!
I just started leveling a Warrior. Got him to level 3 before I logged back onto my Hunter/Pally looking for a raid. I think my Warlock is my alt since I'm only on her when I've exhausted my dailies and attention span on my Hunter or Pally. O.o I want to try a Priest, but leveling all over again (I know, Heirloom gear but... ugh.) but being mountless makes me a sad panda. I'm sure I'll get around to it at some point... maybe. I just don't know what I'd spec. I already have a healer. Two ranged dps, caster and physical. Warrior will be mdps, when I bring myself to leveling him. So would I heal with a Priest or have another rdps? :(
ReplyDeleteI'm known to be an altoholoic. Right now, I've got an 85 Druid, Shaman, Mage and Priest and a level 82 Death Knight and Warlock.
ReplyDeleteTruth be told, my alts mainly only get leveled when I've gotten as geared as I can with my max level toons and we're having downtime from raiding (either a night or two off when I'm able to sit out so someone else can go, or when the people we need aren't on to put a full group together - PuGs are the devil!). I'm notoriously horrible about doing dailies. Leveling Archeology, despite the gorgeous purple benefits, makes me want to dig my eyes out with a spoon...this is why I have so many higher level alts.
I'll talk more about my priest in my next post. Maybe that will help you, maybe not...probably not...lol.
And believe me, I feel your pain about being mountless but I assume you're in a decent level guild? With the heirloom experience bonuses combined with experience/rep bonuses from your guild, it shouldn't take long at all before you snag yourself some wheels.
You could always do what I do (and this is yet another reason I have so damned many alts) and grab a friend to level with, especially for those first 20 levels. You'll be smashing through stuff so fast it won't even be funny!
